EBS Partners Pty Ltd is committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of any personal or sensitive information that we collect from you in various forms and circumstances. In collecting and handling your personal and/or sensitive information, we abide by the Australian Privacy Principles established under the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2001. Please read the following information to understand how we will treat your personal information. We may amend this policy from time to time. If we do so we will display the amended policy on our website.

The information we collect:

  • Name, address and contact details;
  • Date of birth, age and your financial needs and objectives;
  • Marital status and information regarding any previous relationships;
  • Current employment, employment history;
  • Details of your dependents and beneficiaries;
  • Details of any corporate structure which may be used by you to own and/or operate your business (and details of the relevant corporate entities);
  • Your Australian tax file number and Australian business number (where you have provided those to us);
  • Investment preferences and aversion or tolerance to risk;
  • Details of your health insurance provider (and relevant membership numbers);
  • Legal documents to which you are a party (including your will);
  • Documentation which verifies your identity (which, in some cases, we are required to collect by law); and
  • The product and services we provide, or have provided, to you.

How we use Information:

We use personal information primarily to be able to properly provide the services we have been contracted to provide for our clients. Without access to this Information, we will not be able to provide our accounting and taxation services.

If at any time EBS Partners Pty Ltd is required by law to release EBS Partners Pty Ltd must co-operate fully with the relevant authorities.

We may disclose your personal (and where necessary sensitive) information to the following persons:

  • The Australian Taxation Office to ensure ongoing compliance;
  • Another EBS Partners Pty Ltd representative, consultant or contractors;
  • One of approved SMSF auditors to arrange for the audit of your SMSF;
  • Financial advisers, accountants, lawyers and advisers;
  • Financial institutions, including for the purpose of procuring finance for investments where you have requested us to do so; and
  • Organisations offering products and services you wish to invest in or obtain.

Cross-border transfer of personal information:

We may store, process or back-up your personal information on servers that are located overseas (including through third party service providers).

You acknowledge that by providing us with your personal information, you agree that information may be sent overseas. By agreeing to such disclosure, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • EBS Partners Pty Ltd will not be held accountable under the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2001 for any breach of your privacy by the overseas recipient; and
  • You will not be able to seek redress under the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2001 for any breach of your privacy by the overseas recipient.

Complaints:

If you have a complaint about the handling, use or disclosure of your personal information, write to EBS Partners Officer at the contact address below. We will investigate your complaint and advise you of the outcome as soon as possible. If the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction, you can then refer your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, who can be contacted at:
